SEDUCTION - 1994
Seduction is another great assortment of Perera’s gifts. This work
confirms once again that this Miami-based maestro's creativity knows no
bounds. Latin Jazz icon Paquito D'Rivera makes a guest performance on
two tracks playing on clarinet and saxophone. Perera's first encounter
with D'Rivera was in 1992 at Lincoln Center for the Latin Jazz USA
Festival. D’Rivera presence on "Take You There," a bright samba, and"Delirio", a gorgeous bolero from the 1950's, are among the many album
highlights. From Perera’s stunning unaccompanied performance on"Prelude To Forgotten Land", and the remarkable approach of Stevie
Wonder's upbeat "I Am Singing" (sung in Portuguese, Spanish and
English), to the flamenco-spiced rhythmic workout of his self-penned"Spanish Dancer," Roberto Perera once more provides a recording with
one provocative performance after another.

Christmas Fantasies - 1993
Roberto Perera plucks his way through 11 standards in an upbeat appraisal of sacred and reflective songs. Add "Niño Lindo" ("Pretty
Child") and "La Peregrinacion" ("The Pilgrimage") to the mix and Perera's fantasies take on a decidedly South American flavor well
suited to a mainstream audience anywhere in the world. While many harpists are long on mood setting and excessive runs, Perera plays with
restraining décor, perhaps because he's the lead instrument in many of these pieces. With a spirited hand, he generously rolls a batch of
seasonal favorites into his "Christmas Medley" and plays a scintillating "Silent Night" with some unexpected jazz like breaks.

DREAMS AND DESIRES - 1992
Dreams & Desires won the Billboard "Contemporary Latin Jazz Album of the Year" Award in 1993. Perera has brought continuity and progression
to a musical style that has room for those who want to create and dream. The 10 compositions cover a wide variety of genres from the pop
ballad to the Brazilian samba. Even a little Cajun spice has been added for flavoring. Roberto Perera's musical voyage continues to tell us
that dreams are necessary in today's world - it's the only way we can fulfill our desires." If you enjoy Latin music, this is definitely it!

PASSIONS ILLUSIONS AND FANTASISES - 1991
Perera's debut album on the Heads Up label, titled Passions, Illusions & Fantasies, features Perera's Miami-based group and world-renowned
steel drum master, Othello Moleniux. Perera describes this music as “... mainly a mix of contemporary instrumental jazz and pop with a
Latin flavor “... It’s a little bit of everything~ salsa, reggae and bossa nova. The ballad “Como te Puedo Ovidar” (How can I Forget You?)
concludes this illusive collection of sounds that shows Perera as an artist with enough self-assuredness to share with his public a unique
blend of sounds.
